Digital Operator

The role of a DIT is to navigate the complex settings on today’s advanced HD and digital cinema cameras.  Helping to ensure proper exposure and on some cameras even define the final color look, the DIT is there to make every shot look great. On smaller shoots, the DIT can also act as a Media Manager (also known as a Media Acquisition Supervisor or Digital Loader).  This responsibility encompasses the wrangling of digital media footage, backups for safety, quality control previewing, importing into Final Cut (or another NLE) and organizing all the shots for editorial.

Wrangling the bits and bytes to fufill the true promise of high-resolution digital cinema.

John Goodner has the experience you need in a DIT.  He is not only capable of creative imaging control and media management, but can also function as a camera operator, editorial workflow specialist and Mac systems administrator.  His broad understanding of motion picture imaging technology with training in classical photography and filmmaking can make him an invaluable member of your crew.
